Professor Yimin Cai


Prof. Yimin Cai

Yimin Cai holds a PhD in Animal Science from Ehime University, Japan. From 1989 to 1999, he successively worked in National Grassland Research Institute and RIKEN Research Institute, Japan in feed science and microbiology research. From 1999 to 2016, he has served as the Laboratory Chief and Chairman Researcher at the National Institute of Livestock and Grassland Science, Japan. 2017 - till now, he served as Senior Researcher at the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences, mainly engaged in research on sustainable livestock production in tropics and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in animal husbandry. He has personally won the Award of Japanese Society of Grassland Science,jointly won the Japan Grand Prize of Animal Husbandry and published more than 170 SCI papers. His current main research directions are the development and utilization of agricultural by-product resources, sustainable development of animal husbandry and carbon neutrality.
